In this section, we provide information on various topics that may be of interest to all those people who want to know more about a particular topic, both professionals and nonprofessionals related to ophthalmology and vision sciences in general.
We have added basic information about the most common diseases, specific information on current issues, such as cataracts or refractive surgery; practical advice, such as eye protection in sport, or common questions made by patients attending our clinic.
As we intend this information on our website to be clear and accurate and reach as many people around the world as possible, we have also included some presentations of our participation in seminars and conferences, as well as other medical articles or abstracts, books and materials that could be useful to those who may be interested.
A subsection that, we consider very important, is related to the Informed Consent Form (ICF). We have included the ICF used in our department, drafted as recommended by the Spanish Society of Ophthalmology (2005) and following the Catalan legislation (Law 21/2000) and Spanish legislation (Law 41/2002), so that everyone can access them, consult them and make questions, if necessary.
