ALLERGIC CONJUNCTIVITIS SPRING

Have started the spring and good weather has moves over a harsh winter cold snow but this spring to now welcome, is not without issues, not say negative, but to keep in mind as allergies.

WHO warns us that this year will be especially hard spring . After a wet winter followed by a spring with a high level of pollination and for those who live in big cities , it adds to the high pollution we suffer , especially now with the advent of anticyclones , good weather .

We know that one of the worst combinations is the sum of pollution and pollination, the negative effects on the respiratory mucous membranes, skin and conjunctiva , multiply and irritative processes such asthma, bronchitis, rhinitis , conjunctivitis and dermatitis , are much more frequent and greater intensity.

Patients at risk are children and elderly people prone to respiratory problems and in the background , but not too far , come all who use motorcycles or bikes, we suffer the direct action of these particles are deposited on the mucous membranes, triggering irritant reaction .

It should take a series of measures to prevent the uncomfortable discomfort of allergies , especially when present with pictures of important asthma. In regards to the eyes, for bikers , we recommend using full face helmets or masks to isolate the most of the direct action of the air . For car drivers , close windows and air conditioners eye . Domestically , ventilate the home and prevent floors in the bedrooms and remember that snuff smoke is one of the most negative factors.

Special mention and contact lens wearers who suffer from dry eye. The lenses have the ability to post on its surface pollen particles and environmental pollutants (allergens ) , maintaining contact with the conjunctiva and causing the allergic reaction. The solution is to clean the lenses more frequently and use artificial tears to "drag" these allergy-causing particles.

In the case of dry eye occurs something, to have less tear, the allergenic particles are not removed by the tear in the blink and stay longer in contact with the conjunctiva, causing irritation and allergic conjunctivitis . In these cases it is advisable to use artificial tears more frequently and wash the eyes with " eye wash " that we find in pharmacies.

When conjunctival irritation started or in patients who have allergic conjunctivitis usually recommend going to the eye doctor to put in place a specific treatment that solves the problem without letting it evolve into more annoying stages .
